Want to serve God & Money?

Spoiler alert! Jesus didn’t say serving God and money would be difficult.

He said it would be impossible. “No one can serve two masters…
You cannot serve both God and money.” - Matthew 6:24. But let's face it, no one wakes up and decides: “I’m gonna serve money today.” It happens quieter than
that. You start measuring your worth by what you earn. Your peace of mind by what’s in your account. Your future by what you can afford. And suddenly your prayers sound different.
Not:
“God, lead me.”
But more like:
“God, bless what I have; never let me be without it.” Money slowly isn't a resource, and while the word 'ruler' sounds too strong, hey, if it's governing your priorities, your mood, the way you see life...you can't help but wonder if it's not ruling you.
But here's something too many get twisted - money per se, isn't the problem. 1 Timothy warns:
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil…”— 1 Timothy 6:10
Not money itself —but loving it enough to trust it. So much so your life is built around and hinges on it; instead of God. Quietly accepting that money is a safer bet, you're more in control, you've more stability, options. But it exacts a heavy price as your master. It'll ask for way too much of your time, your values, even your obedience, as you say yes to opportunities that pull you away from purpose. And the more you serve it, the less space God gets in your life to lead you.
The Bible is littered with very wealthy servants of God, men made Kings and ultra wealthy rulers. God has no problem making any of us wealthy beyond our wildest dreams but admonishes us to seek first the Kingdom of God.
You can have money. Just let it have you.
